#AllPawsIn: #AllPawsIn: Bearkat All Paws In is the largest volunteer initiative at Sam Houston State University. Hundreds of Bearkats came out on Saturday, March 2, 2013 to put our motto “The measure of a Life is its Service” into practice in and around the Huntsville community. Students spent time volunteering in child daycare centers, parks, along highways, and in service to senior residential facilities. The 2013 event was the first time Bearkat All Paws In extended to the The Woodlands Center campus.
It doesn’t matter where you are, as long as you’re a Bearkat!

#KatsForACure: Join SHSU Recreational Sports in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All month, our Fitness Staff will be sporting pink as a reminder of this important cause. During the week of October 22-26, we will be hosting Kats for a Cure Week, which will consist of many different special events! Click here to see our #KatsForACure Week Schedule!
Voluntary donations to the Susan G. Komen foundation will be taken throughout the week by members of the Fitness Staff.

Bearkats vs. Incarnate Word: SHSU celebrated the first football game of the season and invited Bearkat parents to join the celebration during Bearkat Family Weekend. Over 11,000 fans packed Bowers Stadium to cheer the Bearkats to a 54 - 7 win over Incarnate Word.

Sammmypalooza 2012: Last night SHSU kicked off a new semester with a free concert featuring the All American Rejects, Ludacris, and Eve 6. Bearkats packed Johnson Coliseum for the event. Bearkat Transfer Camp: They may not have started as Bearkats, but they are family now! This week SHSU hosted its first ever Bearkat Transfer Camp. Transfer students got together to meet each other, learn our SHSU traditions, and have a great time. Congratulations to all of this year’s campers, and welcome to Sam Houston State University.

Bearkat Camp Session 1: What a way to kick off Instagram at SHSU! Our first hashtag project started at this year’s Bearkat Camp where incoming freshman spend four days learning about Bearkat life and participating in camp competitions, games, and activities.
